Manchester United met Leicester City in another tight and tough match. Erik ten Hag used the same squad that he has been using ever since he started winning games.
He still dropped Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo to the bench despite the fact that they are some of the experienced players in the squad and also leaders in the team.
He still showed his trust and faith in his young forward line. Jadon Sancho was very excellent and he continued with his good form with the new Manager. He is the one who brought more light into the game after the Leicester City players tried to prove that they are very stubborn and aggressive while attacking.
Marcus Rashford set up a good ball for Jadon Sancho and the two young English international players contributed to the goal. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the Red Devils. The spirit was still carried forward to the second half and they defended their lead very well.
Erik ten Hag made a total of three changes. He substituted Anthony Elanga and brought in Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and brought in Cristiano Ronaldo and he also substituted Marcus Rashford and replaced him with Fred.
Brendan Rodgers on the other hand only made two changes. He substituted Youri Tielemans and replaced him with Kelechi Iheanacho while Jamie Vardy gave way for Patson Daka.
The two forward players were still not able to steer their club to even a draw. The game ended 1-0 in favor of Manchester United and David De Gea also got a clean sheet.
