Everyone who steps into a University has one common thing as the end game and this is always graduation. They all long and toil very hard for it. It also comes with a feeling of joy.
Kenyatta University hosted its 54th Graduation ceremony on Friday December 15th, 2023. This was a colourful event that was graced by various people and various artists like Solomon Mkubwa.
There were various various people gave out their speeches. One of the graduates known as Kimutai Weldon gave the valedictorian speech and he stated that the knowledge that the knowledge that he received at Kenyatta University has truly transformed him and his fellow graduates.
Professor Paul Wainaina, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the institution, stated that the true value of being a graduate is being innovative.
Professor Waceke Wanjohi who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) is the one who presented all the graduands for conferment of Ph.D, Masters, Bachelor, Diploma and certificate Degrees.
Mr. Fredrick Ndambuki who is the Secretary of the Department for Higher Education and Research, represented the Cabinet Secretary of Education, Professor Ezekiel Machogu and he is the one who delivered his speech.
Mr. Ben Chumo who is the Chairman of the University Council also delivered his speech and he told the graduates that as the institution sends them into the world, they should continue projecting the good image of the institution the same way the other alumni have done.
The event was indeed colourful and the photos shared speaks volumes. The graduates now can face the job market and position themselves well for greater things to come.
They should however know that the outside world is very competitive and they have to equip themselves with the necessary skills.
The outside world is very hostile and they will have to do what it takes so that they can make it in life.
