Education still remains to be the greatest equalizer of all time. Kenyatta University held its 55th Graduation ceremony on 19th July 2024 at the Kenyatta University Graduation Square.
The prayers for the occasion were led by Reverend Esther Wainaina and Sheikh Abdullahi Bundid Daar. The guest artist was Dr. Sarah K who is a renown gospel artist in and out of Kenya.
The Master of Ceremonies were Dr. Mildred Nawiri, Dr. Hamisa Babusa. Dr. Beth Mutugu and Dr. Duncan Wambugu.
Ambassador Dr. Francis Kirimi Muthaura who is the University Chancellor congratulated all the graduands who made it after sacrificing for a long time. He also thanked the University Council for doing him the honor to become the Chancellor of the University.
Dr. Ben Chumo who is the Chairman of the University Council also thanked the graduands for their dedication and stated that it is the small steps that they made that led them to achieve the milestones that they achieved.
He also advised the Management of the University to be very vigilant and proactive in this digital era so that they may seize all opportunities that are presented before them.
Dr. Rosalinda Awuor represented Dr. Beatrice Muganda Inyangala who is the Principal Secretary of the State Department of University Education.
She told the graduands that they need to explore various opportunities even as they seek for employment and entrepreneurship. She gave an emphasis on the importance of upholding principles and being guided by passion.
She also challenged the graduands that they need to develop a continuous learning mindset because it is when they have been given the ability to read and learn even more.
Mr. Ezekiel Odongo who is widely known as Kelly Inspiration also gave some wisdom to the graduands. He gave his own personal experience and urged the graduands not to fall in the trap of trying to compare themselves with others.
He encouraged the graduands and told them that every journey of every person is different and each and every person has their own season of success which must come to pass and it is only just a matter of time.
