Manchester United knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup and the Manchester United fans said that this season’s FA Cup is theirs and no team will come against them. The journey was however cut short by a fellow London team with the help of former Arsenal shot stopper, Bernd Leno.
Fulham held Manchester United in a 1-1 draw after full time and extra time. The two teams had to go for post-match penalties in order to determine the team that was going to proceed to the next level.
Fulham was the first team that scored after Calvin Bassey rose to the occasion and scored after getting a good pass from Rodrigo Muniz. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of Fulham.
Bruno Fernandes took the matter in his own hands as the captain of the Red Devils. He converted the cross from Diogo Dalot into a goal and that is what kept Manchester United in the game.
During the penalty shootout, Raul Jiminez, Sander Berge, Willian and Antonee Robinson all converted their spot kicks for Fulham. On the Manchester United side, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and Casemiro also fulfilled their duty and converted their spot kicks. They were however failed by Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee.
Bernd Leno rose to the occasion and caught two penalties that were taken by Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee. He became the hero of the match and took his former team to the next round. This now left Ruben Amorim with only the UEFA Europa League as the only major trophy that he can win.
The woes of Ruben Amorim just continued because it is now very clear that, there is no domestic Cup that he will win in order to convince the Board of Manchester United that, he has a bright future at the club and he has a grand plan.
