Darwin Nunez Shines Off the Bench to Score Two Goals Past Brentford at Extra Time as Liverpool Wins 2-0

Liverpool was set to yet another draw and a third one, for that matter, after the 90 minutes against Brentford. Darwin Nunez who was a super substitute after replacing Luis Diaz, rescued the League leaders and took the club back to winning ways after back to back draws.

Darwin Nunez proved himself once again after missing the game against Nottingham Forest that also ended in a draw. Trent Alexander Arnold gave him the first assist that led to the opening goal.

Harvey Elliot then gave him a brilliant pass that led to the second goal. This was enough to seal the game for Liverpool. The two goals helped Liverpool to climb the Premier League table 7 points clear of Arsenal which is in the second position before playing Aston Villa.

Liverpool’s Manager, Arne Slot named a very strong squad for the encounter but Brentford were also equal to the task especially after holding Manchester City to a draw during the week.

The win can also be attributed to Arne Slot who is the Manager because he made the right choices in terms of the substitutions that were made. He further made some substitutions, he substituted Kostas Tsimikas and replaced him with Andy Robertson, Alexis Mac Allister with Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai with Harvey Elliot and Cody Gakpo with Federico Chiesa.

This late win has now put the race for the Premier League so tight that all the teams that are in that race have to win their games. A draw now seems like a lose because the 2 points that are lost in a draw are so hard to recover.

It is now upon the other clubs which are also eyeing the top spot to up their game and make sure that they also get the three points to keep up with the pace that Liverpool has set.
