Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged Kenyans to remain patient and trust the process Ruto’s government has put in place to revive the economy as they had promised when they took charge of office as the Kenya Kwanza government.
The Deputy President emphasized the necessity for Kenyans to bear the responsibility of settling the significant public debt inherited from the previous administration led by former President, honorable Uhuru Kenyatta.
Addressing the annual seminar of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in Mombasa on Tuesday, Honorable Rigathi Gachagua acknowledged that though the debt was not a consequence of their actions, it remains an obligation of the Republic of Kenya and must be addressed by its citizens through taxation and thus the high taxation being witnessed.
The second in command outlined the proactive measures taken by the current leadership to confront the challenge, highlighting the need for stringent fiscal policies, enhanced revenue collection, and plugging financial leakages.
Honorable Rigathi Gachagua further stressed the importance of ceasing detrimental practices and strategically working towards stabilizing the economy.
The Deputy President expressed optimism about the positive outcomes emerging from their efforts, citing progress in the form of improved fiscal discipline and revenue generation. He is confident that things will get back to normal in a short while and Kenyans will enjoy being Citizens of the country again by not complaining too much.
Honorable Rigathi Gachagua urged Kenyans to brace for better times ahead, assuring them that the concerted measures implemented by the government are yielding favorable results one year into their tenure.
Kenyans will now have to wait and see for themselves the fruits that the Deputy President is talking about. Things are not well currently and very many people are suffering with the rising cost of living as time goes by each and every day.
