Written by The Governor of Homabay County, honorable Gladys Wanga, has dismissed the claims that, the former Prime Minister, honorable Raila Odinga, endorsed Governor Johnson Sakaja to continue as the Governor of Nairobi County as he heads to the Africa Union.
The ODM National Chairperson made it clear while in an interview on Ramogi FM that, honorable Raila Odinga just requested them that, they should give Governor Johnson Sakaja a good time and space for working. She also said that, honorable Raila Odinga meant that, Governor Sakaja should be allowed to finish his term in peace without threats like impeachment.
Governor Gladys Wanga added that, the former Prime Minister said that, as a good gesture for what Governor Johnson Sakaja did in the mobilization of the Prayer Service that took place at the Bomas of Kenya as organized by the ODM Nairobi Women’s League.
She had to come out and clear the air after many people felt that, honorable Raila Odinga wronged their preferred candidate, honorable Babu Owino who has really been his foot soldier for so long now.
The vocal ODM Governor also stated that, Nairobi County is just like Kisumu County where there is more than one strong candidate for the Gubernatorial seat. She added that, in Nairobi County, they will not give anybody a direct ticket in 2027.
All the interested candidates will be subjected to nomination and the politician who will garner many votes, is the one who will fly the flag of the ODM party in that race.
The race looks so tight because, the member of Parliament of Embakasi East Constituency, honorable Babu Owino and the member of Parliament of Westlands, honorable Tim Wanyonyi, have all expressed their interest in the seat.
Honorable Babu Owino boasts of a good development record and a huge following in Nairobi County. He is confident that he will take the seat and transform Nairobi County. He is a very well decorated politician who understands the dynamics of Nairobi County.
