Hakuna Kufinya Computer Kutoa Dollar Tena! Big Blow to Kenyans as Remotasks Closes Operations in the Country

Kenyans received some shocking news after Remotasks, a German based company that has been feeding many Kenyans by doing some micro task jobs seized its operations in Kenya without giving any candid reason.

The company sent mass mails to all the Kenyan users and it communicated the decision to stop operations. The company went ahead to off board users from all the projects that they were working on.

The company will however pay all the money that are still pending. They also wrote to the users that they will be paid via the payment platforms that they had updated in their profiles.

Remotasks used to pay its clients weekly for the work that they had earned. They were also earning well because they were earning their money in dollars.

The tasks were being performed by the unemployed people and even those who were employed and were looking for side hustles to supplement the little money that they were earning from their parent jobs.

The jobs included image annotation, data entry, copywriting, AI Model Training and even services of language translation.

President William Ruto was pleased by a student at Kaiboi National Polytechnic who told him how he had earned a lot of money through Remotasks. This was back in January.

The closure of Remotasks Services in the country will greatly have a negative impact on those who were depending on it because there are people who were using it as their main source of living because of the lack of adequate job opportunities to absorb everybody in the job market.
