Written by Arsenal fans have rated the performance of Neto who is on loan at the club from Bournemouth. The goalkeeper was given his debut at the big stage in the Champions League. He was however not settled in the game and it was very evident and clear.
Arsenal went down and Neto was at the centre of it all. He was very far from his goal post. He was actually outside his box and that is how he caused the blunder for the first goal and piled a lot of pressure on the Arsenal players.
The other funny thing is that, he wanted to catch the ball outside his box and what could have followed was a straight red card. He could have reduced Arsenal to 10 men on the pitch and what could have followed could have been worse than imagined.
The Arsenal fans said that, they will never shout again at Arteta to start Neto because he proved to the fans why Mikel Arteta does not trust him enough to start games. They added that, they now trust the Manager because he is the one who is always with them in the training ground and he knows their strengths.
Other Arsenal fans said that, Neto was so shaky and it is evident that he was nervous. This was expected because he was playing for the first time for Arsenal, and he was not just playing in any other competition but at the big stage in the Champions League.
Neto was also looking so rusty and this can be attributed to the lack of game time. Ever since he was signed on loan at the beginning of the season, this was his first appearance for the club. It is the same thing that happened to Aaron Ramsdale at one point before he switched to Southampton.
