How Arsenal Thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in Their Pre-Season Game

Arsenal met Chelsea in another pre-season friendly game. Mikel Arteta named a very strong squad for that encounter. Aaron Ramsdale was in the goal post, Ben White William Saliba, Gabriel and Zinchenko in the defence.

The midfield had Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaxa. Martin Oedegaard who was the captain played as an attacking midfielder.The other forward players were Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in the wings and Gabriel Jesus in the centre forward position.


Thomas Tuchel also named a very solid squad. Mendy was in the goalpost and the defence had Emerson, Trevor Chalobah, Thiago Silva and Reece James. The midfield had Jorginho and Gallagher. The forward line had Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

The game started on a very high note. The Gunners showed that they wanted nothing but a win in that game. Gabriel Jesus opened the score line by chipping the ball past Mendy. Moments later Martin Oedegaard scored the second goal after Gabriel Martinelli gave him a very good pass.


The first half ended 2-0 in favor of Arsenal. The Gunners still overpowered the Blues in the second half. Bukayo Saka added the third goal and this made it more tough for Chelse to make a comeback in the game.

Albert Sambi Lokonga who was brought in the second half to replace Granit Xhaxa sealed the Victory for the Gunners when he scored the fourth goal. All the Managers made different changes in the second half in order to gauge their players.


Mikel Arteta substituted Zinchenko and replaced him with Nuno Tavares, Gabriel Jesus with Edward Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli with Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka with Marquinhos, Thomas Partey with Mohamed Elneny, Aaron Ramsdale with Matt Turner, Ben White with Cedric Soares, Granit Xhaxa with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Oedegaard with Maitland Niles.

Thomas Tuchel also made a couple of changes in his squad. He substituted Trevoh Chalobah with Malang Sarr, Emerson with Marcos Alonso, Raheem Sterling with Cesar Azpilicueta, Connor Gallagher with Mateo Kovacic, Timo Werner with Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz with Michy Batshuayi, Mason Mount with Hakim Ziyech, Reece James with Callum Hudson Odoi, Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly and Jorginho with Ethan Ampadu.


The game ended 4-0 in favor of the Gunners. Mikel Arteta’s boys played very well and the fans are now waiting to see how they will perform when the new season will kick start in August.
