How Arsenal Thrashed Sevilla 6-0 to Win the Emirates Cup

Arsenal met Sevilla in the Emirates Cup. Mikel Arteta named a very strong squad for that encounter and it gave a hint of the squad that the Spaniard may use in this coming season. He named Aaron Ramsdale in the goalpost. The defence had Ben White at rightback, Oleksandr Zinchenko at leftback and Gabriel and William Saliba in the central defence.

The midfield had Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaxa. The forward line had Bukayo Saka,Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Oedegaard and Gabriel Jesus. Julep Lopetegui also named a very strong squad for that encounter.


The Gunners doninated the game and Bukayo Saka put the club ahead after converting a penalty. Moments later, Gabriel Jesus scored the second and the third goal in a span of two minutes. Bukayo Saka also added the fourth goal even before 20 minutes.

The first half ended 4-0 in favor of the Gunners. The second half also started on a very high note and Gabriel Jesus added the fifth goal of the club and the third goal for him. This was his first hattrick in an Arsenal shirt.


Mikel Arteta made some changes in his squad. He substituted Oleksandr Zinchenko and replaced him with Cedric Soares, Thomas Partey with Mohamed Elneny, Gabriel Jesus with Edward Nketiah, Bukayo Saka with Nicolas Pepe, Granit Xhaxa with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Gabriel Martinelli Martinelli with Reiss Nelson.

Eddie Nketiah wrapped up the scoreline and scored the sixth goal. The game ended 6-0 in favor of the Gunners. Arsenal was crowned as the winners of the Emirates Cup.
