Manchester United met West Ham in another thrilling game of the English Premier League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a very strong squad for that encounter. David de Gea kept his spot in the goalpost. The defence had Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Aaron Wan Bissaka. The midfield had Fred and Scott McTominay. This was the first game for Scott McTominay after missing several games. Jadon Sancho was dropped to the bench and Paul Pogba took his place alongside Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood. Cristiano Ronaldo started as the main centre forward.
David Moyes also named a very strong squad. Lukasz Fabianski started in the goalpost. The defence had Vladimir Coufal, Kurt Zouma, Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell. The midfield had Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice. The forward line had Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma, Nikola Vlasic and Jarrod Bowen who took the place of Antonio.
The first half started on a very high note and the West Ham players stole the show. Said Benhrahma scored the first goal after he received a brilliant pass from Jarrod Bowen. Five minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo equalized the goal. The first half ended 1-1. The second half started on a very high note and the game was set to end in a 1-1 draw according to how the players were playing.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made some changes in his team in order to get good results. Mason Greenwood was replaced by Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard also replaced Paul Pogba. He also later replaced Fred with Nemanja Matic. David Moyes also made some changes and replaced him with Andriy Yarmolenko, he also removed Said Benrahma and replaced him with Manuel Lanzini. Mark Noble also took the place of Jarrod Bowen.
The substitutes that Ole Gunnar brought in the second half worked very well and they helped the club to get a win in that game. Nemanja Matic gave Jesse Lingard a brilliant pass and the England international player scored the winning goal. He redeemed himself after he helped Young Boys to get a win against Manchester United in the Champions League.
West Ham United got a penalty during the added minutes of the game. This was the opportunity for the home team to get an equalizer. David Moyes did a mistake and allowed Mark Noble to come from the bench in order to take the penalty. He missed it after David de Gea punched it. The Manager could have allowed Declan Rice to take the penalty because he also knows how to take penalties. It was also wrong for the Manager to bring in a player who had not touched the ball to take the penalty.
The game ended 2-1 in favor of Manchester United and it got all the three points. The club is currently in the third position in the Premier League table but with similar points as Chelsea and Liverpool. They are only apart by the goal difference. Jesse Lingard and David de Gea were the heroes of that game. The goal was a painful one for West Ham because that is the same club that helped the England international player to regain his confidence last season during his loan spell. The club even wanted to buy him on a permanent basis but he declined and said that he wants to fight for his position in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Chelsea on the other hand met Tottenham Hotspurs in another derby game. The two Managers also named very strong squads for that encounter. Thomas Tuchel named Kepa Arrizabalaga in the goalpost. Mendy was not even in the squad because Marcus Bettinelli is the one who was on the bench as the backup goalkeeper. The defense had Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen. The midfield had Marcos Alonso, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Cesar Azpilicueta. The striking force had Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Romelu Lukaku.
Nuno Espiranto Santos also named a very strong squad, Hugo Lloris kept his position in the goalpost. The defence had Emerson, Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon. The midfield had Pierre Emile Hoejbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele. The forward line had Dele Alli, Heung Min Son and Harry Kane. The first half was very tough and there is no team which scored any goal.
The second half resumed on a very high note and Thomas Tuchel made a tactical change that worked well for the club. He removed Mason Mount and strengthened the midfield with Ngolo Kante. The French international player changed the game and he made sure that the Blues got the victory. Marcos Alonso took a good corner and Thiago Silva headed the first goal. The Manager added only one more change. He substituted Kai Havertz and replaced him with his fellow German international Timo Werner.
Nuno Espiranto Santos also made three changes. He removed Tanguy Ndombele who was not feeling very well and replaced him with Oliver Skipp. He also removed Giovani Lo Celso and replaced him with Bryan Gil. Davinson Sanchez was also brought in in order to replace Cristian Romero.
Ngolo Kante also got into the score sheet after he was given a good pass by Mateo Kovacic. Timo Werner also proved himself and he gave Antonio Rudiger a brilliant pass. The two German players teamed up and that is how the third goal came about. Romelu Lukaku did not get the chance to score any goal in the game. He however had a very good game. The scorers were unexpected players because Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger are centre backs and Ngolo Kante is also a midfielder. Chelsea emerged victorious with a 3-0 margin.
This now means that the club has so far had ten different scorers this season and the club has won all the games. This is a good sign for Thomas Tuchel because he has a good depth of the squad and he cannot only rely on Romelu Lukaku for the goals. It also shows that the club is ready to fight for all the titles this season including the Premier League and the Champions League.
