The NG-CDF has finally disbursed cash to various constituencies across the country. This is after uproar from most of the Members of Parliament who also caused an uproar in Parliament earlier this week.
This comes as a huge relief to those who were depending on the CDF money to get jobs and others who benefited through bursaries because they cannot be in a position to cater for their school fees.
The apex court earlier declared that the CDF as unconstitutional but reports indicate that it was a matter of discussion within Kenya Kwanza government the Judiciary and the Executive. This means that an agreement was finally reached.
Seven constituencies will receive addition of 27 million, 23 constiencies will be added 20 million to what they used to get in the previous years. This is an upward trend for them and it means that they will reap big.
Seven constituencies with eight wards will get the lion share of Sh165,705,316 million each translating to an increase of Sh.27 million over and above what they used to receive. The Members of Parliament from these constituencies are now very happy because things have gone their way.
Those that will be added 27 millions each are Bobasi, Kanduyi, Kieni, Mwea, Naivasha, Ruiru and Kinangop constituencies which will be receiving Sh165 million annually. This is far much than what they used to get in the past years.
Some 23 constituencies with seven wards will also get a fortune in the new distribution formula, pocketing Sh158 million amounting to a Sh20 million increase. This is also a relief to those constituencies.
The constituencies that will receive the Sh.20 million boom include; Bureti, Bumula, Cherangany, Hamisi, Isiolo North, Karachuonyo, Kilifi North, Kinango, Kisauni, Kuria West, Lamu West, Machakos Town, Malava and Makueni constituencies.
The Members of Parliament of these constituencies should therefore make sure that the CDF money is put in good use and it benefits those who really need it.
