Looming Showdown as Gachagua Drops Lawyer They Hired Together with Ruto in Referendum Case

The former Deputy President honorable Rigathi Gachagua has dropped the lawyer that they jointly hired with President William Ruto to represent them, this is after a case was filed to remove them from office through a Referendum.

The Lawyer who has been dropped is Senior Counsel, Paul Ngatia. He was contracted to help them in the case that was filed by Fanya Mambo Kinuthia at the High Court before Justice Chacha Mwita.

When the two Principals were still together, they argued in the Court through their Lawyer, Senior Counsel Paul Ngatia and urged the court to throw the case away, because it did not have any merit at all.

Things have now turned sour and there is a looming showdown between the two former allies. The impeached Deputy President has argued that, their interests are no longer the same because they no longer share the same ideological principals.

Lawyer Kibe Mungai argued that, if honorable Rigathi Gachagua will go on and support the case, then it may cause another showdown between him and his former boss. This is also an indication that, the rift between them is widening as days continue to pass by.

The former Deputy President has dropped Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia and replaced him with Echesa and Bwire Advocates. President William Ruto is now left on the matrix alone because, honorable Rigathi Gachagua had already been technically knocked out through the impeachment by both the National Assembly and the National Senate.

Some of the things that the duo was accused of was the over taxation. The former Deputy President was in several occasions opposed to the high taxes even when he was still the second in command. They were also accused of the extra judicial killings that were witnessed during the Gen Z protests while they were rejecting the Finance Bill.
