MP Reveals how she Refused 5 Million Bribe to Vote Against CS Linturi’s Impeachment

Details have emerged of how the select Committee that was investigating the impeachment of honorable Mithika Linturi from his Agriculture docket.

One of the Legislators who upheld the impeachment motion of honorable Mithika Linturi, who is the Women Representative of Busia County honorable Catherine Omanyo has alleged how she was bribed with 5 million shillings in order to oppose that impeachment.

Honorable Catherine Omanyo said that there was a lot of money at stake because they knew that they had not voted and that is when she was also approached but declined the offer and decided to stand with the farmers who have been adversely affected by the fake fertilizer scandal.

The motion to impeach CS Mithika Linturi was brought forward by the member of Parliament of Bumula Constituency, honorable Jack Wamboka and he also stated his dissatisfaction by the select Committee for freeing CS Mithika Linturi even after he was impeached by majority of the Parliamentarians.

The Member of Parliament of Rarieda Constituency, Senior Counsel Otiende Amollo also said that money really exchanged hands in that Committee and only the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Legislators are the ones who stood with the farmers as their Kenya Kwanza counterparts opposed the impeachment of CS Mithika Linturi.

He further urged the Speaker of the National Assembly to make sure that all the Members of Parliament who were bribed and told to vote against that impeachment motion to be investigated and further disciplinary actions to be taken against them.

He said that if the allegations are found to be true, then the report will be null and avoid and the Parliament will be forced to start the whole process again.

They said this while addressing the press outside the Parliament buildings just few minutes after honorable Mithika Linturi was set free and he can now continue with his work as the Cabinet Secretary of Agriculture.
