Honorable Daniel Manduku has confirmed that, the Orange Democratic Movement has already fronted the name of the Suna East Member of Parliament and the leader of the Minority in the National Assembly, honorable Junet Mohamed to fill the position of the Cabinet Secretary of Interior.
The Legislator added that, the position is currently vacant because the National Assembly had already approved the nomination of Professor Kithure Kindiki as the next Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya following the impeachment of honorable Rigathi Gachagua.
He also stated that, it is up to the President to decide if he will choose him or not. Honorable Daniel Manduku said that, they submitted the name just the same way that they submitted honorable Gladys Wanga’s name to be considered for the position of the Deputy President.
According to him, there are only two outcomes, the President can either approve that nomination or reject it. Kindly share with us your thoughts concerning the news that ODM has already fronted the name of honorable Junet Mohamed to fill the Interior Cabinet Secretary position.
It is still however not clear whether ODM will be given that seat or not, this is because, previously it was held by a leader from the Mount Kenya region and they may obviously want that seat to be given to one of their own.
There were some rumors that, the Majority Leader in the National Assembly, honorable Kimani Ichung’wah was going to get that seat. The Kikuyu Member of Parliament however disputed that and said that, he has a job and he is contented with his current role as the Leader of the Majority in the National Assembly.
He said that, he did not lead the impeachment of honorable Rigathi Gachagua so that he can eventually benefit by getting a job in the Executive as a Cabinet Secretary.
