Arsenal will host PSG at the Emirates Stadium in their second group stage match of the Champions League. This will be a heated contest between the two teams.
PSG on the other hand, will visit the Emirates stadium as a wounded team because the club will potentially, miss eight of their first team players. The injury woes were seen on Friday in PSG’s win against Stade Rennes.
Only Randal Kolo Muani and Milan Skriniar were the only senior players who were named on the bench in that victory. The other five were all junior players. Furthermore, PSG only named seven substitutes instead of the nine recommended substitutes.
The players who are potential doubts for the clash are like Goncalo Ramso who has an ankle injury, Lucas Hernandez who has a knee injury, Presnel Kimpembe who has an achilles tendon injury.
Marco Asensio who is the key attacking midfielder for PSG had a thigh injury and he was expected not to feature in that clash but he has been included in the squad.
Vitinha had a foot injury and Nuno Mendes was also ill on Friday and did not take part in that victory. They were doubts for the clash but they have all been included in the squad.
The latest news also says that, the PSG Manager, Luis Enrique has decided to drop Ousmane Dembele for that clash due to disciplinary issues. Ousmane Dembele had a heated argument with his Manager and this is what has contributed to his dropping for the game.
On the other hand, Arsenal have had a boost in their squad. Riccardo Calafiori who was thought to be injured was declared as fit. Ben White too is fit and he is now back in training with the rest of the team.
New signing Mikel Merino has also started light trainings and he may be available but may not take part in that match. The only player who will be missed by Arsenal in this clash is their Captain, Martin Odegaard.
