Kenyans received some sad news on Tuesday in the evening after it was reported and confirmed by the family that Professor George Magoha passed on at the Nairobi hospital after getting cardiac arrest.
He died at the age of 71 since he was born in the year 1952. He will be remembered greatly as the Cabinet Secretary of Education who brought some reforms and also championed for the Competency Based Curriculum.
He was appointed to the Ministry of Education docket by the former President honorable Uhuru Kenyatta. He was also a strict disciplinarian and he brought a lot of discipline in the Education sector during his tenure.
Many Kenyans rushed online to mourn him and they eulogized him as a man who not only brought sanity in the education sector but he also brought sanity at the University of Nairobi. They said that he went too soon because the country still needed his services since he is a person with a brilliant brain.
The people also said that he has fallen but his legacy will forever remain because almost everybody in the country knew him because of his quest to change the education system and sector in Kenya for a better one.
Honorable Raila Odinga also sent his tribute and wrote that he is deeply saddened by the death of Professor Magoha. He eulogized him as a transformational leader, illustrious scholar, dedicated public servant aa distinguished medical doctor who left at an indelible mark on the country’s education system.
