The National Assembly has finally handed three Cabinet Secretary nominees whose fates were hanging on the air. The Cabinet Secretary nominees, honorable Aisha Jumwa, Mithika Linturi and Peninah Malonza were all smiles on Wednesday after the Parliament approved their nominations.
The Majority side had only declined to approve honorable Peninah Malonza while the minority side also tabled a counter report that declined the nomination of honorable, Aisha Jumwa, Mithika Linturi and Peninah Malonza.
According to them, honorable Mithika Linturi and Aisha Jumwa still have some cases that they need to attend to in court and therefore they are not fit to be Cabinet Secretaries. On the side of Peninah Malonza, both the Majority and the Minority agreed that she did not articulate her issues well while she was being interviewed.
Honorable Peninah Malonza must be the happiest of all of them because she had first been rejected by both the sides. Some of the Members of Parliament said that she should be given the chance because she will have people who know that job very well in her office and they will help her.
Honorable John Mbadi on his side said that 60% of the Cabinet Secretary nominees should be rejected because they don’t fit those dockets. He even gave an example with honorable Chirchir and said that he was removed from that docket because of corruption.
He also added that very few Kenyans can even remember that he was in that Ministry because he left nothing substantial that he could be remembered for. He however praised some of the nominees and said that he knows that they will deliver.
The nominees who were praised are honorable, Kithure Kindiki, Aden Duale, Kipchumba Murkomen and Justin Muturi among others.
