Written by Mathew Nyamlori finally breathed his last after a long battle with cancer. Many people have eulogized him as a very resilient and persistent person with a lot of determination in life.
Details have now emerged of the remarkable requests that he made. He made a request to his care givers, his brother and his friend Okoto Nyuka Bel to spend the night by his side that night. They agreed to his requested and granted him his wish.
He then requested for his wallet and he re-arranged the cards in it carefully, after that, Mathew Nyamlori requested for his phone and he went on TikTok, replied to a close friend on WhatsApp and then updated his status on Facebook that he was being discharged the next morning.
He asked the people who he had requested to spend the night by his side to call the nurse who was taking care of him. He deeply appreciated the nurse for taking good care of him during that period.
He then spoke blessings over his social media friends who have been supporting him in one way or another especially through his treatment journey by pulling resources together to make sure that he got treated and the bills paid.
Mathew Nyamlori then requested for yoghurt, soda, juice and tea. All these were brought to him and they were shocked that he took them despite the fact that, he had not taken anything for three weeks.
He told the people he requested to stay by his side that, they need to take him home, he insisted that if they do not take him home, then he will escape and leave them behind in the hospital. They did not know the home he wanted them to take him to but now they have a clear picture of it.
It is indeed very sad that after all the fight that Mathew Nyamlori had both academically and health wise, he left before enjoying the fruits of his determination.
