The whole has been thrown into mourning after the death of John Okafor widely known as Mr. Ibu. His family confirmed that he lost his life while receiving treatment at Evercare hospital in Nigeria. The veteran actor has really suffered and he even had his leg amputated a few months ago.
Mr. Ibu graced the screens of many people and he will always be remembered for his humorous character that blended with some bit of comedy. It was always nice watching his shows and movies because of its comic nature.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Rollas also confirmed that Mr. Ibu is no more and he succumbed to cardiac arrest.
“I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr. Ibu didn’t make it. Mr. Ibu suffered a cardiac arrest according to his Manager of 24 years.” President Rollas wrote on his Instagram page.
Most people knew about Mr. Ibu’s illness after his family posted in December 2023. This is after the family released a statement. Many people thought that Mr. Ibu had healed after his leg was amputated but that seems not to be the case.
The family statement read that the first amputation did not completely correct his health predicament and therefore the doctors had to take another measure and amputate that leg further to make sure that they don’t lose him. The actor’s health did not improve but further deteriorated.
They said that Mr. Ibu’s cause of illness was not diabetes but he had constant clotting of the blood in his legs and other health problems.
