PART ONE
The episode starts when mourners are gathered at Bi Salama’s house and they are deliberating on the next thing that they should do in regards to Maneno’s death. Dida then passes by and she moves to the house straight without talking to anybody. Kaka then follows her immediately as Kokan tries his best to stop him but fails in that quest.
Dida then meets Sada at the door and Sada quickly asks her what has brought her there. Kaka then pops up and rescues her with the question from Sada. He says that Dida has come to see him and they both go aside.
A quarrel erupts at Major’s house between Major and Fatima. She tells Major that she cannot be lectured on how to raise her child because she has given Dida well and she can be considered as a wife material. On top of that, she adds more salt and accuses Mejja of not being a good role model for JJ because he is a spoilt child. JJ who was also part of the discussion interrupts that session and Fatima immediately leaves in order to search for Dida.
At the village, Dida is with Kaka and he urges her to take her leave. Dida maintains that there is nowhere that she is going despite the fact that she knows she is not loved. Mwanzale then shouts to Kaka and tells him that he should release Dida and allow her to get out of that place. She however says that she should not be discriminated against because she is also just one of them and she is also just there because she is also grieving just like them.
Back at Major’s house, JJ dares his father to fire the gun at him. He also poses hard questions on his father and demands explanations from him as to why he shot Mzee Maneno. According to him, he does not care whether he was in the army or not. In his defence, Major tells JJ that if he did not shoot him, then he could have been already dead. He also adds that it is his responsibility as a man to take care of his family.
At the village, Dida is struggling to light fire traditionally. Kokan then tells Kaka that Dida is really struggling to prove her love for him and he wishes that he could also have someone who can fight for his love. Few moments later, Sultana also passes by and Kaka starts mocking Kokan that by the look of things, it seems that things are over between him and Sultana.
This angers Kokan and Sada also gets into the mix, she also threatens Dida with a slap. Sada reminds her that she is just forcing issues like Fatima and Buya. This heated outburst continues and Dida tells Sada that she should stop mentioning the name of her father.
Dida then continues to struggle with the fire after being mocked by Sada that each and every person knows that Fatima is a devil and she does not even love Buya. At Major’s house, Fatima is busy trying her level best to call Dida. Major then joins her and inquires about why he is worried, she answers that Dida is missing and she suspects that she has gone to the village square to maybe sound some warning to Sulatana concerning JJ.
PART TWO
This part starts when its night time and Dida is just sitting alone by the fire and she is thinking aloud whether it was a mistake to visit Kaka at the village. Bi Salama then joins her and thank her for coming all the way to the village to mourn with them.
Back to Major’s house, Asia prays for bi Ua to die so that her secret cannot be known, JJ hurriedly gets in and tell her to look after his mother because he wants to rush somewhere. Back in the village, Salama asks Dida how Bi Ua is doing and whether she said anything concerning Sultana. Dida then tells her that it is Sada who may be in a position to answer that question.
Back at Major’s house, Fatima asks him if she wants to go and look for her daughter and he offers to escort her. She tells him to just sit back and take care of his wife. Just before Fatima’s departure, Sada comes in and tells Major that he will remain cursed forever for killing an innocent soul. She then tells Fatima to stop forcing issues between JJ and Dida. JJ then bumps into the room and seeks for clarification on what happened to Mzee Maneno from Sada.
At the village, Dida is still trying to perform wifely duties and she brings Kaka and the men who were there some water so that they can clean their hands before taking their breakfast. Fatima then calls Dida but she hangs up and this makes Fatima furious to the extent that she wants to go to the village and bring her alone.
An elder at the village heaps praises on Dida and says that if all the rich people can emulate her, then the world would be a better place to live. Kaka on the other hand gives a contrary opinion and says that she may be a spy who has been sent to do some survey, coincidentally, some elders agree with his opinion.
Back to Major’s house, he receives some praises from Asia as he is doing some light exercise. Major on the other end attacks her and tells her that she is a hypocrite because she did not give her any insight when JJ brought Sultan and Bi Salama home. Asia then poses a question to Major and asks her how he intends to live with the villagers after committing murder. He however says that, that is a very small thing and he is yet to do the worst because he does not fear any person.
Dida meets Sultana in the village and she gives her her seat but Sultana insists that they can share the seat. They then sit together and Sultana tells Dida that they have all fitted well on the seat the way they fit in JJ’s heart. Dida tells Sultana that she is done with JJ and Sultana also assures Dida that she is also done with JJ because it is in the public domain that she is not of JJ’s class.
