Written by The former President, honorable Uhuru Kenyatta has already made a choice for his preferred candidate for the 2027 general elections. Several reports have indicated that, he has settled for his former Cabinet Secretary in charge of Interior, honorable Fred Matiang’i.
The Daily Nation Newspaper confirmed that, the matter has already been decided and honorable Fred Matiang’i will be the flag bearer of the Jubilee party.
Some sources have also said that, the former President, honorable Uhuru Kenyatta is also seeking to get the support of honorable Raila Odinga. It is however not very clear how possible that will be, owing to the fact that, honorable Raila Odinga agreed to form a broad-based government with President William Ruto and some of his top officials in the ODM party were nominated into the Cabinet and other positions in the government.
The plan seems to be well coordinated and what honorable Uhuru Kenyatta want is to rally behind all the opposition leaders so that they can form one formidable force that can take President William Ruto head on.
This comes just some few weeks after honorable Uhuru Kenyatta met with President William Ruto and after their handshake, several allies of honorable Uhuru Kenyatta were rewarded with state jobs including Cabinet Secretary positions.
The allies of honorable Uhuru Kenyatta who were awarded Cabinet Secretary positions are, the former Cabinet Secretary of Health, honorable Mutahi Kagwe, the former Governor of Kiambu County, honorable William Kabogo and the former Governor of Nakuru County, honorable Lee Kinyanjui.
Many people thought that the Handshake between the two leaders meant that, he was going to support him to finish his term and then support his re-election. This has also been the problem in the ODM party, where a section of leaders wants the party to support President William Ruto’s re-election bid while another set of leaders want the party to front a candidate.
