A University of Nairobi student identified as Justus Otieno has stabbed his roommate, Brian Wambui after they had some dispute concerning the flushing of the toilet. Brian Wambui was identified as a third year student.
The witnesses said that, the two roommates had a clash on the use and the cleaning of the toilet. They had an argument on whose responsibility was to clean and flush the toilet. The incident was confirmed by Omondi Ogola who is a police Officer at the DCI in Kikuyu.
The other students who are their neighbors joined to separate them but Justus went back to the house and brought a knife and stabbed his roommate. He brought the knife as a weapon to safeguard himself because the friends of the deceased wanted to intervene. He however did the unthinkable and killed the third year student.
The body of the deceased was moved to PCEA Thogoto Hospital Mortuary. The suspect has been arrested and he is waiting to be arraigned in Court after finding enough evidence linking hi to the murder of his roommate.
There is no justification for killing a fellow comrade just because of flushing of the toilet. This is a matter that ought to have been sorted amicably by the two roommates and there was no need of creating tension and killing one another because of just a mere flushing of the toilet.
The deceased has now lost his life and his roommate will also not enjoy that same life because he will surely go to jail because he has committed murder. If they could have come to terms, they could have agreed and they could still be living peacefully as roommates.
This has now caused a lot of panic to parents especially those with students in the University. Their greatest nightmare now is the type of roommates that their children will get.
