What was Witnessed as Arsenal Thrashed Barcelona 5-3 in Their Pre-Season Friendly

Arsenal met Barcelona in their last pre-season game at the US. The two Managers named very strong squads for the encounter. Mikel Arteta named a very strong squad with Aaron Ramsdale at the goalpost.

The defence had Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber. The midfield had Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey and Kai Havertz. The forward line had Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard.

Xavi also named a very strong squad with Marc-Andre ter Stegen at the goalpost. The defence had Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo and Sergino Dest. The midfield had Ilkay Gundogan, Oriol Romeu and Pedri. The Forward line had Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Robert  Lewandowski and Raphinha.

The game started on a very high note and Robert Lewandowski opened the score line. Bukayo Saka then equalized for Arsenal. Raphina added the second goal for Barcelona. Kai Havertz also added the second goal for the Gunners.

The first half ended 2-2. The second half started on a very high note and the Gunners looked sharp. Bukayo Saka got the opportunity to put Arsenal ahead but failed to capitalize on the penalty.

Leandro Trossard then came to the rescue of Arsenal and added the third and fourth goal. Ferran Torres scored the third goal for Barcelona before Fabio Vieira wrapped up the game with the fifth goal for Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta also gave some players the opportunity to also show what they can do on the pitch. He substituted Martin Odegaard and replaced him with Fabio Vieira, William Saliba with Jakub Kiwior, Jorginho with Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber with Kieran Tierney, Leandro Trossard with Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus with Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Magalhaes with Rob Holding and Bukayo Saka with Amario Cozier-Duberry. The game ended 5-3 in favor of Arsenal.
