Erik ten Hag also made some changes in his team. He substituted Christian Eriksen and replaced him with Fred, Anthony Martial with Jadon Sancho, Antony with Marcel Sabitzer, Bruno Fernandes with Wout Weghorst and Aaron Wan-Bissaka with Tyrell Malacia.
The full time whistle was blown when the game was still 0-0. It forced the teams to into extra time. The deadlock was not broken even after the end of the extra time. As the norm, a winner was needed in order to know the team that was going to face Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
