Manchester United met Leeds United in another game of the English Premier League. This was the second time the teams were meeting in less than one week. Erik ten Hag knew the challenge that was ahead of him and he knew that his team needed a sweet revenge after what happened earlier in the week.
The first half was a tough one and it ended in a barren draw. The two Managers changed their tactics in the second half and it worked well for the Manchester United Manager. He made some changes that were questionable but they all bore fruits at the end.
Erik ten Hag substituted Tyrell Malacia and his place was taken by Lisandro Martinez, Jadon Sancho was also substituted with Alejandro Garnacho, Diogo Dalot with Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The substitutes brought in more energy and they charged the club to move forward.
Luke Shaw gave Marcus Rashford a good pass and he headed in the first goal of the game. Moments later, Wout Weghorst then gave Alejandro Gernacho a brilliant pass and the substitute sealed the victory for the visitors.
Manchester United scored two goals in a span of five minutes. The players later scored two more goals through Marcus Rashford and Wout Weghorst but the goals were ruled out because they were scored from offside positions. Marcus Rashford was later substituted and his place was taken by Anthony Elanga.
Leeds United also made several changes and Patrick Bamford was substituted for Georginio Rutter, Jack Harrison for Brenden Aaronson and Weston McKennie for Sam Greenwood. The game ended 2-0 in favor of Manchester United.
