Arsenal met Southampton in another game of the English Premier League. The two Managers named very strong squads for the encounter and it was evident that they all wanted to record good results.
Mikel Arteta named first eleven had Aaron Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Ben White, Granit Xhaxa, Thomas Partey, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
Ralf Hasenhuttl also named a very strong squad and it had Gavin Bazunu, Lyanco, Duje Caleta-Car, Salisu, Romain Perraud, Elyounoussi, James Ward-Prowse, Ibrahim Diallo, Stuart Armstrong, Adam Armstrong and Joe Aribo.
Arsenal started on a very high note and the club got the first goal through Granit Xhaxa. He was given the assist by Ben White. The club held on to that lead until the end of the first half. The players went for the half time break when the score line was 1-0 in favor of the Gunners.
The second half started on a very high note and Southampton looked more focused. Stuart Armstrong pulled one goal back after he was given an assist by Mohamed Elyounoussi. This changed the game in terms of its tempo.
Mikel Arteta made some changes but it did not mean anything. Gabriel Martinelli was substituted and his place was taken by Edward Nketiah, Ben White with Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard with Fabio Vieira.
Southampton also made some changes and Joe Aribo was substituted and his place was taken by Che Adams, Adam Armstrong’s place was taken by Theo Walcott while Stuart Armstrong’s place was taken by Samuel Edozie.
The game ended 1-1 and it was Arsenal’s first draw of the season. This is actually a poor result for the club because the points separating it with Manchester City is just two and this can be bridged anytime by the defending champions and the other teams below them in the Premier League table.
