Nottingham Forest went to the Emirates stadium with high spirits after beating Liverpool last weekend as Arsenal welcomed them after suffering a 2-0 loss against PSV in the Europa League. Mikel Arteta named his strongest first team for that encounter.
The Arsenal players were aware that their position had already been taken at the top by Manchester City and the only way that they could get back was through a win. Bukayo Saka gave Gabriel Martinelli a good pass and the Brazilian international player scored a beautiful header.
Arsenal got some bad news after Bukayo Saka who was very vital and vibrant could not continue with the game. He got injured and Mikel Arteta was forced to substitute him. Reiss Nelson who was his natural replacement was brought in to take that position. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the Gunners.
The second half started on a very high note and Reiss Nelson proved to Mikel Arteta why he should be given more game time. He scored the second goal for the Gunners. He again scored the third goal after Gabriel Jesus gave him a brilliant pass.
Reiss Nelson did not stop at that point. He gave Thomas Partey a brilliant pass and the Ghanian international player scored a beautiful goal from a long range. The captain, Martin Odegaard added the fifth goal of the game after he received another brilliant pass from Gabriel Jesus.
Gabriel Jesus was very vital in the game but he was not lucky to get in the score sheet. The game ended 5-0 in favor of the Gunners and the team got its first clean sheet at the Emirates stadium this season. The club also reclaimed its top spot in the Premier League table.
