Manchester United played their second game of the English Premier League against Brentford. Erik ten Hag named his strongest squad with the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and even Cristiano Ronaldo. Many people thought that the team was going to deliver but they were shocked with how the players played.
Josh DaSilva scored the first goal from a long range after he received a pass from Mathias Jensen. This set the pace of the game. Moments later, Mathias Jensen also got his name on the score sheet. He added the second goal and even made life more tough for the Red Devils.
Ivan Toney then gave Ben Mee a very good pass and he also slotted in the third goal. Ivan Toney again gave Bryan Mbeumo another pass and he scored the fourth goal. The first half ended 4-0 in favor of Brentford.
The second half started on a very different note and Erik ten Hag was forced to make some three changes at the beginning of the last half. Lisandro Martinez was substituted and his place was taken by Raphael Varane, Fred with Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw with Tyrell Malacia. They tried their best but they were unable to push the club forward.
He later substituted Jadon Sancho and replaced him with Anthony Elanga and Christian Eriksen with Donny Van De Beek. They also failed to deliver and this made the Red Devils to lose 4-0 against Brentford.
The club has now lost its first two opening games of the English Premier League. Erik ten Hag is also still waiting for his first win in the Premier League.
