Portugal met Ghana in their opening game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign. The two Managers named very strong squads for that encounter. Fernandos Santos naked Diogo Costa, Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Danilo Pereira, Guerreiro, Ruben Neves, Bernardo Silva, Otavio, Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix.
Otto Addo’s squad had Lawrence Ati Zigi, Rahman Baba, Salisu, Djiku, Amartey, Alidu Seidu, Mohamed Kudus, Salis Abdul Samed, Thomas Partey, Inskip Williams and Andrew Ayew.The first half was not very pact and the two teams went for the first half break when the score line was 0-0.
The second half started on a very high note and it was full of goals. Portugal got a penalty after Cristiano Ronaldo was brought down in the box. It was a hotly contested penalty and there were no signs that the VAR was used in its determination.
Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up and as usual, he did not disappoint. He scored the goal and set another record. He is now the player who has scored in every World Cup competition that he has participated in.
Andrew Ayew then equalized and this put Ghana in a very good position of making a comeback. The Nation also became the first African team to score in this year’s World Cup competition. Moments later, things went from bad to worse fir Ghana.
Bruno Fernandes gave Joao Felix a good pass and he scored the second goal for his nation. Bruno Fernandes again gave Rafael Leao another pass and he scored the third goal that changed everything.
All the Managers made some changes and they worked well for them. Osman Bukari also got to the score sheet. He got the second goal fir Ghana but they were not in a position to get the fourth one. The game ended 3-2 in favor of Portugal.
