Ben White has never been called up in the England squad after the World Cup saga when he left the camp before the World Cup was over. He took his time off and focused on his career at Arsenal.
Ben White has been very impressive after that incident and he elevated his performance for Arsenal. He is so far enjoying his best football career at Arsenal and he has proven his point as a very versatile player in Mikel Arteta’s squad. He has even signed a new contract.
Gareth Southgate named his squad and he explained why he did not include Ben White in his squad despite the fact that he is one of the players who are in a very good form. He said that Ben White did not want to be considered for selection.
He said that they got a call from Arsenal that the English international player is not interested. There must be something that happened between Ben White and Gareth Southgate and that is why he even pulled out from the World Cup squad.
Ben White may also have not wanted to be included in the squad because he knows that the Manager always has his favorite players who he will take no matter how they perform. There are players who are always being called even if they do not play regularly.
Ben White obviously does not want to be on the bench and yet he knows that he has the capability and the potential to be in the starting lineup.
There is high possibility that Ben White will return to the England National team when Gareth Southgate’s tenure will come to an end.
