Antony who was the record signing for Manchester United has not found life at Manchester United very easy as he would have thought. He was expected to stand tall in the game against Arsenal but he found the game very tough and he was well man marked by the Arsenal players.
This forced Erik ten Hag to sacrifice him and he was substituted. His team struggled to find a winning goal and as a record signing, this is the time that he could have proven his worth to the club and scored the important goal that was highly needed.
The Brazilian international player received a lot of criticism from Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville who are Manchester United’s superstars. Rio Ferdinand termed Antony as a footballer who cannot beat anyone.

Darren Bent who is also a former Premier League striker also said that all the tricks and the flicks that Antony is doing are of no substance. He also added that he is doing all these things but he is not getting past anyone.
He also added that it is not like he is doing the trick to manipulate the ball to go past someone, but he is just doing it for the sake of doing it. He was asked if he thinks Antony is a YouTube Footballer and he said yes.
He added that he does not understand how some video clips which are the best were sampled on YouTube and a player was signed. He added that there is no substance in between and therefore there is no end product.

Darren Bent’s response as to whether Antony is a YouTube footballer is this, “A little bit, yeah. You clip all the best bits of a footballer and you look at it on YouTube and go wow, I can’t believe we are signing him.”
“But where’s the substance in between, where’s the end product? I know he started off alright at United, couple of good goals, but where’s the end product?”
This is not the end of the game for Antony, he can still pick up his lost pieces and perform better. He should now take the criticism positively so that he can improve on his game.
