YY Comedian narrated how he suffered to make it in Churchill Show after doing many auditions. He went for his first audition when he was still a student at Kenyatta University and he was escorted by his roommate who was his number one fan.
He said that he was living with his with his uncle and after six months of auditions, he was finally told that he will perform and he was very happy when he was going back home. He unfortunately did not know that his uncle who was paying his University fee was also fed up with him coming home late every day and calling off semester after semester instead of studying.
This was the same day that he had gotten the nod to perform the next day. He packed his two suitcases and said that he will first perform so that he can get the 1000 shillings for the day and at least get a place to spend the night because he had the 1000 shillings.
The unfortunate thing happened and one of the star comedians was to perform that night, so the program was tight and they had to sacrifice one person. YY Comedian was the sacrificial lamb and he was told that he has to step down since they have never seen his performance.
He then requested to get a seat at Carnivore so that he could just listen. He was granted the opportunity. Luckily the system started misbehaving and as Churchill was being unveiled to the crowd the system started misbehaving.
They asked who could make people laugh and YY and other four people volunteered. He was given the last chance to perform and he killed the show. There was one Governor in there and he was awarded 1000 shillings.
Well-wishers then contributed for him 16,000 shillings and he was very happy because he knew he will not go back to the village. He continued to struggle for a chance and one day his aunt called him in his office and gave him some 5000 shillings and told him to buy some clothes and groom himself.
She also told him that they will meet at his uncle’s place on Sunday for a meeting. He went there and one of his uncle’s took the remote and put NTV Churchill Show and told him that he has been saying that he is a comedian at Churchill show and therefore they want to see him.
They did not see him and one of his uncles said that he is a thief and he will not make it in life. He walked out of that meeting and when he reached the sitting room he found that a well prepared wet fry fish was prepared and though he was hungry, that was the first time that he left fish.
YY Comedia later sent a text to his aunt and told her to tell his uncle who told him that he will not make it in life that he will become a millionaire one day.
He later got the opportunity and became one of the most successful Churchill Show Comedians. He has now made it in life and he has disapproved his uncle who said he will not make it in life.
