Truth Behind Baraton University Student’s Death, Brenda Chepkurui

Rumors and fake news have been going around social media that another Baraton University student was killed and her kneck chopped off. These are untrue news because this is an incident that happened some weeks ago.

Reports reaching our desk have indicated that the alleged lady is known as Brenda Chepkurui who hailed from Kericho County. She was a second year student who was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Baraton University. She reported to school on 8th January 2024 and she embarked on doing a thorough cleaning in her house.

Her neighbors saw her and they even interacted. She however went inside her room and locked herself inside. She was not seen outside until the fourth day after her reporting date that is now on Thursday 11th January 2024.

The landlord took the initiative and notified Baraton University Management that there was a student who had locked herself for several days in the house. The University Student Services took immediate action and they contacted the DCI and the police, they opened the door and found the lady already dead.

The body was very intact and there was no any sign of harm or struggle. No rape case was also reported. A Postmortem was done by White Crescent Hospital in Kapsabet and the results indicated that the Baraton University student died a natural death.

Baraton University notified the family and the body was finally taken home and the burial took place on 18th January 2024.
