John Mbadi Finally Makes a U-Turn as He Gives Governor Wanga Relief Ahead of 2027 Elections

Honorable John Mbadi who doubles up as the Orange Democratic Party Chairman and also a Nominated Member of the National Assembly has finally announced his next move after shelving his ambitions of running for the Homabay County Gubernatorial seat which is currently being held by Governor Gladys Wanga.

Mbadi has confirmed that he has given the current governor Gladys Wanga the opportunity to work for two terms until 2032, stating that he will not contest for the seat come 2027 in the next general elections.

Mbadi has confirmed that he will run as a Member of Parliament for Suba South, a Constituency he represented in the National Assembly for three terms between 2008 and 2022. He wants to out seat honorable Caroli Omondi who is the current Member of Parliament.

Honorable Caroli Omondi is not in good books with the Orange Democratic Party and there are very high chances that he will not be given the party ticket again. The party has been accusing him of going to bed with the current Kenya Kwanza government.

Speaking during handing over of Kiumba modern fish Banda, Kiumba Beach Rusinga Island in an event which was attended by the governor Wanga and ODM party leader Raila Odinga, the outspoken lawmaker said that he has weighed his options and given the governor the opportunity to work until 2032.

“I want give Governor Gladys Wanga the opportunity to work because I am going back to Suba South Constituency.” He said.

Mbadi said that he will be looking forward to unseat the current MP Caroli Omondi who switched his allegiances to working with President Ruto’s administration after the 2022 polls.

Mbadi has been a great critic of Governor Wanga’s leadership since Raila Odinga chose the former Homa Bay County Women Representative as ODM party flag bearer in the 2022 polls.

It seems that their differences have now been solved and they will work together even ahead of the next general elections. This is now a reprieve to Governor Gladys Wanga because she knows that she will get the votes that could have been cast for honorable John Mbadi.
