Kenya and the Whole World Mourns Kelvin Kiptum who Died in a Road Accident

Kenya and the whole world are in mourning after the tragic death of Kelvin Kiptum who is a World Marathon record holder. He died at the age of only 24 years when he still had a very bright future ahead of him.

The accident happened at Kaptagat which is on the Elgeyo Marakwet-Ravine Road. He died along his Rwandese coach Garvais Hakizimana. He was set to be the first human to run a marathon under 2 hours.

They were together with Sharon Kosgei who was the only survivor of that road accident. She was rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral hospital for treatment. The CEO of the hospital confirmed that she has now been discharged after receiving her treatment.

The vehicle that they were using was wrecked and that shows how tragic the accident was. He has been mourned from all sides of the world because of the World Record that he won last year in Chicago Marathon.

Theirs death were confirmed by base Commandant Dennis Muga and the bodies were moved to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue. He was seen as the heir apparent to Eliud Kipchoge who will soon retire.

The news came as a shock to many people who believed in Kelvin Kiptum. He was a rising star whose stars had started to shine bright. He was eulogized by very many people including Eliud Kipchoge who they were to compete with in April.

The legend said that he was saddened by the demise of Kelvin Kiptum who was an athlete who had a whole life ahead of him to achieve incredible greatness.
