Thomas Partey’s contract will also come to an end in the summer and it will be very shameful to lose the player for free when his stars have just started shining. The best thing that Mikel Arteta can do is to make sure that he secures yet another deal that can keep him in the squad.
Right now, there is no midfielder who can be compared to Thomas Partey and if he leaves the club, then it will be very difficult to find his replacement. Mikel Arteta has gambled with his squad and he is very much aware that, there is no current Arsenal player who can do the donkey work that Thomas Partey is doing.
In the game against Manchester City, all the three midfielders were directly involved in the goals in one way or another. Marti Odegaard scored the first goal, Thomas Partey scored the second goal while Declan Rice provided two great assists that led to two goals.
