Fatima encourages Asiya to try her cuisine while she is in the kitchen, but Asiya tells her that she is not a fool and that she can never trust her because it is common knowledge that Fatima would have already replaced Ua if it were possible. Fatima just shrugs and says they’re on good terms now.
When JJ inquires as to whether or not Saada is certain that Major is involved with Kokan’s disappearance, Saada agrees, explaining that Major would never admit his mistakes and that she was certain he was guilty after hearing that he locked Ua in the store and refusing to bail out JJ when he was locked up.
Fatima assures Asiya that she has improved for the better, despite Asiya’s refusal to try her cooking, but Asiya counters by saying that she has been conducting her survey and now wants to replace her, that she should not ask her to cook and take credit for it, that she is sure she wouldn’t last a week with Major because a good woman isn’t too concerned with make up and doing her nails, and that Fatima should instead ask Asiya
Saada responds to JJ’s question about why she continues to help him despite the fact that he is not related to her by saying that he is still his son and that she doesn’t care who is involved. She then goes on to remind JJ of the mayhem he could have caused with that gun and the fact that he is not okay, which is why she won’t leave his side. She explains to him that her late father didn’t leave anything to Major and that she has been forced to live like a refugee.
When Kaka goes exploring around the city, he abandons Amina in her store.
After a nasty conductor forces Saada into a matatu, she becomes enraged and angry, and JJ attempts to calm her down before she attacks him.
Fatima and Kaka both visit the downtown market, but luckily they manage to avoid running into each other. A hungry Fatima heads to Amina’s market to stock up on groceries.
Saada gives JJ some advice as they stand on stage together, and when he asks her if Sultana will give him a second chance, she tells him he’s lucky because she never got one. She reveals that she became pregnant while unmarried, and that Major punished her for it by terminating the pregnancy and making sure she would never become pregnant again. Saada informs Major that she has proof that their father didn’t leave anything to him, that she will help him acquire the answers he seeks, and that she will give him her inheritance once the war is over because she sees him as her second opportunity and her son.
Major walks outside to work out, but he seems distressed and returns inside. He is surprised to see Asiya laying the table, but Asiya says that the food was actually cooked by Fatima. Fatima walks down, and Ua assists her to the table. In response to Major’s praise of Fatima’s surprise, the latter explains that she thought it would be best to eat as a family rather than host a housewarming party. Asiya turns to go back into the kitchen, but Fatima stops her and invites her to sit with them. Each everyone at the table receives a beverage from her. Everyone, except for Ua, who is just glaring at them, appears to be having a good time at the table.
After hearing the news from the nurse, Sultana sobs on the bed, and Maria, who also appears to be distressed, cries and leaves.
After Major has finished his meal and burped loudly, Fatima tells them that she has been exploring the city and has tried the food at several hotels but has been disappointed, so she has resorted to purchasing her meals from women hawking their wares on the streets. While Asiya is taken aback by Fatima’s decision to eat on the street, Fatima sings Amina’s praises for her culinary prowess. When Major reminisces about the early days of his marriage to Ua, praising Ua’s cooking talents as the reason he fell in love with her, Fatima becomes jealous but puts on a brave front in order to disguise her feelings.
Bi. Salama leaves the ward in search of Maria; when she finds her, she comforts her with an embrace and assures her that Sultana will be well and that the doctors have asked to keep her in for another two days to monitor her progress because she appears to have a lot on her mind. Maria holds JJ responsible for all that has happened, claiming that he has no idea how difficult it is to lose a kid, and she promises that she will never let JJ near Sultana again.
