What was Witnessed in Arsenal’s 2-1 Loss to Liverpool in Pre-Season

Arsenal met Liverpool in another pre-season game as they prepare for the new upcoming season. Mikel Arteta named Karl Hein in the goalpost, his defence had Olesksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior and Ben White.

The midfield had Kai Havertz, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard. The forward line had Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson.

The Liverpool Manager also named a very strong squad for that encounter. He named Caoimhin Kelleher in the goalpost. His defence had Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, Sepp van den Berg and Kostas Tsimikas.

Liverpool got the first goal through their goal machine, Mohamed Salah. Fabio Carvalho then added the second goal. Arsenal got one consolation goal through Kai Havertz. The first half ended 2-1 in favor of Liverpool.

The second half was full of substitutions. Mikel Arteta substituted Reiss Nelson and replaced him with Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli with Fabio Vieira, Kai Havertz with Ethan Nwaneri, Oleksandr Zinchenko with Myles Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel Jesus with Eddie Nketiah, Thomas Partey with Jorginho, Gabriel Magalhaes with Ayden Heaven and Ben White with Josh Nichols.

Arne Slot made some several changes too in his squad. He substituted Curtis Jones and replaced him with Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley with Luca Stephenson, Diogo Jota with Treymaurice Nyoni, Mohamed Salah with Tyler Morton.

Harvey Elliot with Owen Beck, Jarell Quansah with Nat Phillips, Dominik Szoboszlai with Stefan Bajcetic, Fabio Carvalho with Harvey Blair, Kostas Tsimikas with Ben Doak and Sepp van den Berg with Amara Nallo.

Mikel Arteta made another gamble again with Kai Havertz in the midfield. He should now learn that he had experimented this last season and that is the weakest point that made Arsenal to even lose some games.

Kai Havertz is not a midfielder and it is not a must for him to fit in the team, he can rotate upfront with the other players. There are players who can perform better than him in the midfield.
