What was Witnessed in Manchester City’s 2-1 Shocking Loss to Bretford in the EPL

Manchester City hosted Brentford in another game of the English Premier League. All odds were pointing out that the former Champions were going to getting a commanding win against their opponents since they have one of the best squads and they were also playing at the Etihad stadium.

All the two Managers named their best squads and they were ready for a win in that game. Brentford started the game on a very high note and Ivan Toney put aside the frustrations of not being included in the World Cup squad and got back to work. He proved to Gareth Southgate that he made a very bad mistake of leaving him out of the squad.

He opened the score line and put his club in front. Manchester City also tried their best and the club got an equalizer in the added minutes of the first half. Manuel Akanji gave Phil Foden a brilliant pass and the England international player equalized for his club.

The two teams went for the first half break when the score line was 1-1. Pep Guradiola only made one change in his team and he substituted Joao Cancelo and replaced him with Julian Alvarez. Thomas Frank on the other hand made several changes and brought in fresh players who still had the energy.

He substituted Vitaly Janelt and replaced him with Christian Norgaard, Bryan Mbuemo with Yoane Wissa and Frank Onyeka with Josh Dasilva. The referee added 10 minutes to stoppage time after the 90 minutes had elapsed.

Brentford took the chance and opportunity to punish the Premier League defending Champions. Manchester City pushed many players forward and forgot to guard the back line. A counter attack was launched and Joshua Dasilva gave Ivan Toney a brilliant pass that led to the winner of the match.

The game ended 2-1 in favor of Brentford. This now means that Arsenal will be at the top of the Premier League table by Christmas Day even before playing their game against Wolves later in the day.
