Manchester United met Barcelona in the second leg game of the Europa League knock out stage. This was a very thrilling match and the two Managers of the big clubs named very strong squads for that encounter.
It was a do or die game because one team had to be eliminated by fire by force. The Red Devils went into the game with an upper hand because of the 2-2 draw of last week. The players were well prepared because they knew that it was theirs to lose since they were playing in their homeground.
The first half started on a very high note and it was largely dominated by Barcelona. The efforsts of the visiting team were rewarded by a penalty after Bruno Fernandes committed a foul in the penalty box. Robert Lewandoski took the penalty and he comfortably converted it. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of Barcelona.
Erik ten Hag must have instilled some sense in his players because when they came back for the second half, they were looking totally different. The Manchester United players really terrorised the Barcelona defence.
Fred pulled an equalizer for Mancheter Uniter after getting a good pass from Bruno Fernandes who had caused the fault for Barcelonaa’s first goal. Antony vindicated himself after being trolled for quite some time. He scored the second goal that later became the wi nng goal.
The game ended 2-1 in favor of Manchester United with an aggregate of 4-3. The club will now advance to the next stage of the Europ League as Barcelona exits the stage.
