Written by Kenyatta University students received some bad news after a fourth year student from the school of Education committed suicide in his hostel room. The student was staying at Bethel hostel in KM which is just found behind the Main Campus.
The student was identified as Clinton and he left a love note and it is believed that he might have committed suicide because of love issues. He chose a very dangerous route of taking off his life because he suffocated.
He lit two Jikos and then took some sleeping pills for him to sleep. Charcoal has carbon monoxide and it does not support life. He must have suffered through the suffocation and that is what led to his death because he deprived himself some fresh air.
The incident happened on Thursday night and we are still waiting for more investigations to be done. The learning institutions should start incorporating mental health and mental awareness in their calendars so as to curb such deaths and problems.
The deaths of the young youths have been very rampant and almost all of them are in a love triangle. In his note, he bid farewell to his family members and he expressed how grateful he is for the support that they have given him in his Education journey.
People are really struggling and the youths should also understand that this life has ups and downs and one cannot win all the time. There are ups and down and people must learn to live with that. Suicide is never the best option at all.
