Kenyans Reactions as Raila Odinga Skips CDF Francis Ogolla’s Burial but Attends Mashemeji Derby Between Gor Mahia and FC Leopards

The former Prime Minister, honorable Raila Odinga did not attend the burial of the late Chief of Defense Forces, general Francis Ogolla but instead sent his broth, honorable Oburu Odinga to represent him and the family at large.

Honorable Raila Odinga was later spotted at Nyayo Stadium in the Mashemeji Derby between Gor Mahia and FC Leopards. Gor Mahia which he supports, later won the match 1-0.

Some people said that he missed the burial because he had already visited the family and also paid his tribute at the Ulinzi Sports ground. They said that according to him, it was not necessary again to go for the burial.

Some Kenyans also defended him and said that he has been there for the family ever since the incident occurred and therefore there is no need for other people to paint him bad yet he has been ever present in that family.

Majority of the people said that Raila Odinga is very tactical and he has his own reasons why he chose to skip the burial but attend Gor Mahia’s match of which he is equally the patron of the club and he could not miss the Mashemeji Derby since it is one of the most entertaining matches in Kenya football.

Some people also said that the Cabinet Secretary for Defense, honorable Aden Duale had said it all when he said that whatever Raila said at the Ulinzi grounds on Saturday was true and that is why he had to confirm and clear the air that CDF Francis Ogolla was not involved in the Bomas Saga in the last General elections.

Other people also said that honorable Raila Odinga needs the support of the Kenya Kwanza government in his bid for the Africa Union Chairperson position, and therefore since it was a State Affair, he did not want to spoil the State function because the burial was taking place in his home area and that is predominantly his support base.
