The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has rolled out a program and a plan that aims to deploy the Primary school teachers to Junior Secondary schools. This is with the aim of addressing the shortage of teachers that has been realized in the Junior Secondary school.
The Teachers Unions had complained that there are some teachers who are over qualified and can teach the Junior Secondary schools but they are still stagnated at the Primary Level despite their qualifications.
This is indeed some great news to the Primary school teachers who have been wishing to teach in the Junior Secondary schools. There are quite a number of teachers who are teaching at the Primary level but have been longing to transition to Secondary schools.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) posted a notice on its social media accounts and requested the interested teachers who want to be deployed to the Junior Secondary Schools to apply before 18th March, 2024.
The following are the qualifications for those who will be eligible to be taken to the Junior Secondary Schools:
- One must have scored at least C+ (Plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
- One must have at least C+ (Plus) in the two teaching subjects at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
- Each of those two teaching subjects must also have at least eight units per subject.
- One must be currently serving as a Primary School Teacher under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Those who meet the qualifications should apply as early as now so that they may be deployed to the Junior Secondary schools by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
