Hassan Joho Clears the air on Being Alleged as a Drug Baron

The former Governor of Mombasa County, honorable Hassan Joho has finally brought to rest the allegations that were laid against him that he was a drug baron. He answered the question while being vetted by the Appointments Committee after his nomination by President William Ruto, for the position of the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.

The former ODM Deputy Party leader also dismissed the claims that he acquired his wealth through the trade of drugs. He stated that he was implicated back then in the year 2010 by the late honorable George Saitoti who was the then, Internal Security Minister.

Honorable George Saitoti, got the list from the US Embassy and then he brought the list to Parliament, and later conducted the thorough investigations.

He said that the late honorable George Saitoti again tabled a report before the Parliament, this is after conducting a conclusive investigation, and cleared his name that there was no evidence that linked him to being a drug baron.

He said that his family is blessed with businesses and the money that he has, is very clean money through the Companies that they have and other businesses like the Real Estate business. He added that, he does clean business and it can be audited.

Honorable Hassan Joho further went ahead, and confirmed that, his family is in the service industry, and they have never even at one time engaged with the government in any business. This is because, his family has so much on the table for them with different countries.

Honorable Hassan Joho, also said that, the only problem that he has with people, is the fact that they only talk about the report that implicated him, but they do not talk about the report that was tabled after conducting a thorough investigation through an international multi-agency that acquitted him and cleared his name.
