Arsenal welcomed FC Porto at the Emirates Stadium for the second leg game of the UEFA Champions League. The two Managers named very strong squads for the encounter.
FC Porto started the game on a very high note as compared to how the players played in the first leg. Their good display did not however count at the end of the first half. Martin Odegaard gave Leandro Trossard a good pass and the Belgian international player scored the first goal of the game.
The second half started on a very high note and it was equally very tough because all teams were looking for ways and means of scoring. Martin Odegaard scored the second goal but it was ruled out because of the infringement that Kai Havertz had with FC Porto’s goalkeeper.
Regular time ended 1-0 in favor of Arsenal and therefore the two teams were forced to go for extra time because the aggregate was 1-1. The two teams were still not separated after the extra time and they were forced to go for the penalty shootout so as to determine the team to proceed to the UEFA Champions League quarter finals.

Mikel Arteta only made three changes in his squad he substituted Jorginho and replaced him with Gabriel Gabriel Jesus, Jakub Kiwior with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leandro Trossard with Eddie Nketiah.
FC Porto’s Coach also made some changes in his squad. He substituted Joao Mario and replaced him with Jorge Sanchez, Evanlison with Mehdi Taremi, Alan Varela with Marko Grujic, Nico Gonzalez with Stephen Eustaquio and Francisco Conceicao with Goncalo Borges.
Arsenal’s penalty takers were Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and they all scored brilliant penalties.
FC Porto’s penalty takers were Pepe, Wendell, Marko Grujic and Galeno. David Raya saved two penalties for Wendell and Galeno and his saves helped Arsenal to advance to the quarter finals.
The game ended 4-2 on penalties and Arsenal advanced to the quarter finals after a very tough game. Arsenal finally advanced to the Champions League quarter finals after waiting for 14 years.
