How Arsenal Managed to Thrash Tottenham 3-1 to Maintain a Lead on Top of the EPL Table

Arsenal met Tottenham Hotspurs in another North London Derby at the Emirates stadium. The two Managers named very strong squads and it was very evident. Mikel Arteta named a very strong squad with Aaron Ramsdale in the goalpost. The defence had Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel and Zinchenko.

The midfield had Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaxa. The forward line had Bukayo Saka, Martin Oedegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus. Antonio Conte on the other hand named Hugo Lloris in the goalpost. His defence had Clement Lenglet, Eric Dier and Cristian Romero.

The midfield had Ivan Perisic, Rodrigo Bentancur, Hoejbjerg and Emerson Royal. The forward line had Heung Min Son, Richarlison and Harry Kane. The game was very lively and Thomas Partey announced his return to play by scoring a fantastic goal. He was given an assist by Ben White.

Moments later, Gabriel committed a foul and Tottenham got a penalty. Harry Kane was given the mandate to take it and he equalized for his club. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw. The second half also started on a very high note and it seemed like Mikel Arteta had told his players that he wanted nothing but a win in that game.

Gabriel Jesus capitalized on Hugo Lloris’s mistake and he scored the second goal. Tottenham Hotspurs got a setback after Emerson Royal was given a red card for bringing Gabriel Martinelli down.

Granit Xhaxa then confirmed the win for the Gunners with his first derby goal after he was given a brilliant pass by Garbriel Martinelli. All the Managers used their five substitutions.

Antonio Conte substituted Clement Lenglet and replaced him with Davinson Sanchez, Richarlison with Ryan Sessegnon, Ivan Perisic with Yves Bissouma, Heung Min Son with Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Hoejberg with Oliver Skipp.

Mikel Arteta also made some substitutions and he replaced Thomas Partey with Albert Sambi Lokonga, Oleksandr Zinchenko with Kieran Tierney, Martin Oedegaard with Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus with Edward Nketiah and Ben White with Takehiro Tomiyasu. The game ended 3-1 in favor of the Gunners.
