John Mbadi Slams Luos for Prioritizing Lavish Funerals Yet Development is Very Low

The Chairman of the ODM party and nominated member of Parliament, honorable John Mbadi has slammed the Luo community for giving much priorities to funerals as opposed to giving priority to the development in the region.

Honorable John Mbadi said that the main reason why the lake region is lagging behind is because of having misplaced priorities.  The people in the region are channeling the money to the wrong direction.

Luos value their lifestyle and they have even modified funerals nowadays. There is always a convoy of very lavish vehicles, buffets and even very expensive clothes that are used during the burial days.

Honorable John Mbadi stated that the Luo community has deviated from the traditional ways of conducting the burials. In the past the coffin used to be lowered by ropes but such never happens because money is being used to hire the machine for lowering the coffin in the grave.

He added that hiring such a hearse is very expensive and it has made the price of funeral to really sky rocket because some of the vehicles used as hearses are some of the expensive brands like the Range Rover.

He added that people have really prioritized funerals at the expense of development and they better turn to friends to help them in fundraising so as to finance the expensive funerals.
