JSS Interns in Nairobi Storm TSC Offices Chant “Nancy Macharia Shuka,” as They Demand to be Employed on Permanent and Pensionable Basis

The saga surrounding the Junior Secondary School interns has been going on for some time and interns across the country stated how dissatisfied they are with the Teachers Service Commission for ignoring them and ignoring their efforts.

There have been rumors that some people are being employed from the backdoor and this is what angered the interns because they feel that it is not fair that they have given their all but when it comes to employment, they are being by passed and others are being preferred ahead of them.

These are however just allegations because we have not yet heard from Nancy Macharia herself. When she will talk on the same, we will inform you and keep you posted and updated.

The interns in Nairobi went to the Teachers Service Commission Headquarters and they demanded to speak to the CEO, Nancy Macharia so that she can listen to them and they can have a chat going forward.

It should be noted that most of the interns have vowed that they will down their tools when the schools reopen for the second term. They added that they have to be employed is when they can resume their work.

According to the interns, the 17,000 shillings that they are receiving is not enough to sustain them in this current economy. They said that the money is too little that cannot last them for a whole month owing to the fact that they also use a lot of energy to prepare the lessons and to also teach.

A section of Kenyans have also called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate all the allegations that have been tabled by various people concerning what is going on at the TSC Headquarters so that people can know is really going on and why the inters cannot be absorbed.
